At first I thought that the laptop is "shagged": ) but after a careful look I knew I can fix it myself. The two metallic pieces must interlock. It is not difficult..consider it a good "lego" type experience. Enjoy :) My 3 year old did the same thing. It seems difficult at first but once you understand the system it is very easy to snap the keys on. If any of the keys are broken you can buy individual keys on eBay. With a two year old, I think it would be worth the learning curve of fixing the keys so you can do it easily in the future as necessary. :) Dan I knocked off a couple of keys by accident cleaning my Vaio keyboard and was able to put them back together using the guide at this site:

My youngest did the same to my mac keyboard. I glued some of the keys back on with a special glue that cements rubber to plastic and now only half of them work effectively....that is, you really have to hold down on the key to get it to work...not really what you want to do while your typing up a letter or whatever. Maybe buy a cheap keyboard only attachment...although that does pretty much defeat the purpose of the laptop. Hey, your dad was here at my mom's house for a little while. I didn't get to see him (we live like three hours South of Massachusetts by car) but next time I'll try. I didn't know your sister lived in Texas...or that any Irish persons lived there for that matter. Good luck with the keys. DW Cuz,

If you get one, fitting it should be quite simple, just a few small screws. Have a look on eBay, there’s probably a good chance you’ll find a suitable Vaio keyboard there.
